A citywide enforcement operation in northern Quito led to the closure of six establishments and the launch of nine sanctioning processes after repeated complaints about noise, disorderly behavior, and intoxicated patrons.

Inspectors visited nightclubs, bars, discos, and restaurants to verify permits and operating conditions. In several cases, businesses were found to be operating outside the scope of their licenses. Restaurants, for example, were hosting loud music, dancing, and heavy alcohol consumption—activities not permitted under their authorized use—triggering enforcement action.

One of the most serious incidents took place on Mariano Aguilera Street, where managers of a venue shut the entrances in an apparent attempt to avoid inspection. Patrons were kept inside while authorities were denied access, prompting intervention by the National Police. Once inside, inspectors determined the business was operating as a nightclub without the required permit and found a high number of intoxicated individuals. The establishment was closed.

In the Iñaquito sector, another venue was shut down after authorities discovered narcotics inside the premises. Substances including marijuana, cocaine, tusi, and poppers were found hidden in walls and furniture. The business was also operating as a nightclub without a valid license.

The operation involved multiple agencies working together to enforce local regulations. Under municipal rules, establishments that operate without permits or misuse them can face fines exceeding USD 7,000, along with closure.
