New road closures are coming to Cumbayá as maintenance work continues along Oswaldo Guayasamín Avenue between April 22 and May 1, 2026.

The project covers the stretch from Los Conquistadores Avenue to the Supermaxi passage. Crews will be working both day and night, with daytime hours running from 07:30 to 20:00 and night work from 20:00 to 05:00.

During this period, key intersections along the route will be closed. These include Oswaldo Guayasamín Avenue at Los Conquistadores and at the Supermaxi passage.

Drivers are being directed to use alternate routes to get around the closures. Suggested options include the Baños underpass, Juan León Mera, Aurora Estrada, General Eloy Alfaro, and Cristo Rey.

Work along the corridor has already caused heavy congestion in the area, and traffic disruptions are expected to continue while the project is underway.

Officials indicate that the Cumbayá-to-Quito section of the road is now open, while work on the Quito-to-Cumbayá side is expected to wrap up in the coming weeks.

Public transport services will continue operating on their usual routes despite the construction.
