Road rehabilitation work will begin Thursday, April 30, in the La Floresta neighborhood of central Quito, affecting 25 road sections and bringing temporary closures and traffic changes.

The project will start simultaneously on Vizcaya and Madrid streets, key routes that connect the upper and lower parts of the area.

• Work to cover 25 road sections
• Full closures planned on parts of Vizcaya Street
• Partial closures expected on Madrid Street

On Vizcaya Street, construction will be carried out in phases, with complete closures between Cádiz and Valladolid streets. On Madrid Street, partial closures will be in place from the La Floresta roundabout to Avenida 12 de Octubre, with one lane remaining open. Parking will not be allowed along the affected sections.

Public transportation routes will be adjusted, with buses redirected along Toledo, Ladrón de Guevara, and La Coruña streets.

Traffic officers will be deployed throughout the area to manage vehicle flow and assist drivers during the works.

Authorities are advising residents and commuters to plan ahead and expect delays while the project is underway.
