Three traffic accidents were reported within less than 20 minutes Monday morning on the Quito–Guayllabamba stretch of the Pan-American Highway North, leaving five people injured.
The incidents unfolded between 7:49 a.m. and 8:08 a.m., affecting traffic along one of the main routes connecting Quito with the surrounding area.

The first crash happened near the airport turnoff when a vehicle overturned, injuring two people. Emergency crews responded and provided assistance on site.
Shortly afterward, a second accident occurred before reaching the Guayllabamba bridge in the south-to-north direction. A motorcycle crash left two more people injured, with firefighters attending to the scene.
The third incident took place about four kilometers past the Guayllabamba roundabout, where two vehicles were involved and one overturned. One person was injured and treated by responding personnel.
The series of accidents comes just days after a major collision on the same route that left two people dead and 42 injured.
Drivers are being urged to proceed with caution, maintain their vehicles properly, and avoid speeding to reduce the risk of further incidents.
