A man was found dead early Thursday morning near Plaza Argentina, at the intersection of Avenida 6 de Diciembre and Avenida De los Shyris in Quito’s commercial and banking district.
The discovery alarmed residents and workers in the area. The victim, estimated to be around 30 years old, was located about 20 steps from the San Martín Ecovía station, in the lane reserved for buses.
A security guard reported seeing the man walking earlier, apparently under the influence of some substance.

The Medical Examiner’s Office removed the body from the scene, and an investigation is ongoing.
Traffic was temporarily affected but resumed shortly after 6:30 a.m., with Ecovía buses and private vehicles returning to normal circulation.
