A traffic accident in northern Quito left two people injured early Friday morning after a collision caused one of the vehicles to overturn.

The crash occurred at 5:28 a.m. in the Las Casas sector, at the intersection of Antonio de Ulloa and Bartolomé de las Casas streets. Two light vehicles were involved, and the impact led to one of them rolling over.

Emergency crews responded quickly, with paramedics providing on-site treatment and stabilizing the injured.

Despite the severity of the rollover, traffic in the area remained open. Vehicles continued to move through the intersection while responders attended to the scene and cleared the damaged cars.

The cause of the accident has not yet been determined and remains under investigation. No arrests have been reported.

The incident follows other recent early-morning collisions in the city. On March 26, two separate accidents were recorded on Simón Bolívar Avenue and the General Rumiñahui Highway. One involved a minor crash near Guápulo, while another led to a lane closure on the highway due to wet road conditions.
